I love a boring life
I've always enjoyed winter - so much so that I am envious of the snow that gets dumped just south of our home, as in 30 minutes or so away. When the weather is bad, I drive only to work and back. Except for the one day last week. It was a snowy morning, and it seemed the plows had only been on the road once. My husband always makes sure I have a good car and tires for driving, but I could feel the tires slipping.
I live 10 minutes away from my job, and I travel down two long and tricky hills. After the first hill, I felt it was going to be ok and that I would make it. At the crest of the second hill, traffic was crawling to a stop as a semi truck was stuck on the hill. I almost rear ended the car in front of me. With only a few minutes to go before I would be sitting at my desk, I decided it wasn't worth it and turned around for home. I'm thankful for all the vacation time I have so that I can use a day out of the blue when I want one.
My husband has been riding the snowmobile as much as he can. Sunday afternoon I met him at Chautauqua Lake where we saw the castle made from lake ice. We met up again for a sandwich at one of the local warm-up stops. Happy Valentine's Day!
On the sewing and stitching front, I've been picking away at my BOM's. Audrey and I were in Erie last Saturday to check out the cross stitch shop and a new quilt shop.
There was some stress at work for a few weeks when I thought I would be moving to a different department. At this point I don't feel there will be a change. I'm ready to move if my boss needs me somewhere else; I just feel comfortable where I am and hope to stay where I really want to be.
I've been reading a lot of blogs and getting inspired. I been exercising and participating in a weight loss challenge at work. At this point, I'm wearing slacks I haven't felt comfortable in for a couple years. My weight loss isn't that tremendous; but I figure if I can lose a pound a week, that's good enough for me.
You can see my life isn't all that exciting, so I've had little to blog about. But I'm happy things are quiet for me now. God is good, and I am blessed.
