Last year my granddaughter Gianna Mary-Lynne was born. We call her Little G or Gigi now, but I love throwing in the name Mary-Lynne which is a combination of my name and her other gramma's name. She will be one year old in July. While her mommy and daddy are planning her first birthday party, I'm trying to finish up her baby quilt and her Christmas quilt. Yeah, I'm that far behind.

I used a jelly roll of Let It Snow and was able to squeak out two nice-size quilts with scrappy bindings. Aubrey Faith got her quilt at Christmas. I just put the last stitches on the binding of Gig's quilt this past weekend. I'm going to get the baby quilt out next and get that machine quilted up.

These unfinished projects need to be completed not only because I want Gigi to have these but also because there is another grandchild coming to us in October. Julie and Travis will be having Baby #3, and I need to get started on a quilt for that one. Somehow I don't see myself ever getting caught up.

Love the quilt and love the name Gigi. I think you're right, we are never really caught up.

It looks beautiful!
Congrats on becoming a grandma again this Oct.! Looks like you'll become stuck at the sewing machine! lol!

What a great reason to not be caught up on your quilt projects!!
This is really worth the wait. You know, if you were giving her a jug of juice from Walmart, we'd tell you, you're probably slacking, but not with this being the end of the wait!
Very, very nice!

Yea it is hard to stay caught up when there are so many fun projects to make! I had 3 nieces having babies this year, one still to go...finishing up on that quilt now.Congratulations on that new baby!

Oh you will get caught up! Because I am taking on this project: Nag Mary until these baby quilts are done!! Well, not 'nag' but encourage - there, that's the right word! You do such perfect work it is worth waiting for and your babies will love snuggling with these.

Such a cute quilt! And congratulations on your future addition. As far as being caught up - I think that it's a hard thing to do, but if you keep trying everything is finished eventually!

Congratulations on the baby on the way! Gigi's quilt is as adorable as her name--and I'm sure she will treasure anything you make for her, no matter when she receives it. :)
