The 2 1/2" strip swap quilt

If you follow my blog regularly, you know that I posted here about the strip swap that my quilt group had. We've all been working on our quilts, and the big reveal will be at this coming weekend's retreat. Most of my quilts have been quilted by NancyZ from our group. This quilt, though, I took to someone else to keep the element of surprise going.

This is my quilt. I chose this pattern from the Scrap Basket Quilts book because the basket block is one of my favorites. While I wasn't crazy about this pattern when I first started sewing the blocks, it's grown on me. I love the colors of this quilt and how fabrics that aren't normally in my stash have made a beautiful quilt.

I think this is one of the best projects our group has done, and I am looking forward to seeing what the other quilts look like.

ok--- I love this...The brights and touches of pastels really cheer it up. I'm asking Santa for that book. I've seen so many cute quilt patterns from that book.

It's a wonderful quilt and what a great feeling to have it finished, instead of in pieces!! I am trying to move my latest from top to finished on my bed. Gotta keep the momentum going!

What a wonderful quilt! My quilt bee did an exchange of 1 1/2 inch strips in fall colors. I have been wishing that the strips were at least 2 inches instead. I have not started on the quilt from them yet, but I do finally have something in mind. I love what you chose to do! :0)
