Look what I made

My friend NancyF made one of these watermelons, and I fell in love with it. It doesn't exactly look like my primitive decorating style, but the reds and the scrappy look just appeal to me.

I took this to quilt group last month, and Darcy said there is a free pattern for it on the web. Here is the link she emailed us. Thanks, Darcy!

Then I knitted this baby hat. My daughter Mandy and her Canadian husband Shane just announced they are having a baby! The little one is due around December 8. Needless to say, we are all excited. What a Christmas gift!

I like your watermelon that is cute...the colors are yummy! That hat is adorable...go ahead and whip a few together, there are a couple of little heads in your family that will need to be kept warm in the winter! Blessings to you!

Congrats Grammy. How exciting. Another little one to love. I am so happy for you Mary.

I think your watermelon runner looks great. Not everything has to look totally prim to fit into prim decor. I know you will make it work just perfectly.

AMY

Congratulations, no better news than a baby on the way!

I have a thing for watermelons, I'm all the time picking up patterns with watermelons in them. Did you see the cover of Fons and Porter's magazine, watermelons. I've yet to make single melon. I wonder if it's the red that speaks to me! I love yours.

LOVE the watermelon rug! Was that made from men's ties? Oh, now after closer examination, I'm thinking not. So cute!
