I took my Farmer's Wife quilt book to work earlier this week so I could read it during my lunch break. I noticed that the author, Laurie Aaron Hird, included a yahoo email address; so I took the time to write her to ask where she found these letters because I wanted to read everything about the contest the letters came from as well as the complete letters. Before the day was over, I received a sweet email back from Laurie; and it made my day.
In her email she mentioned she has reprinted a booklet that contains the complete letters. I told her that I broke my CD with the templates for the quilt blocks, and she gave me a phone number where I could call for a free replacement. But the best part is that she told me she has a blog. After checking it out, I find it's every bit as nice as her book.
My hope is that The Farmer's Wife quilt will become as popular as the Janiacs have made the Dear Jane quilt.

You've got my interest up with this one. Can you tell me what the blog name is. I would to have a look at this quilt. I'm a Dear Jane lover and I really like what I see on the cover of that book.
Mary, are you planning to do the Farmer's Wife Quilt Blocks? That would be fun, and I am sure you can do it! Are you ready for snow, the prediction is that it is coming to PA? Have a great rest of the week and weekend! Blessings to you!
Don't you love when authors take the time to respond like that? That was so nice of her. I haven't seen that book but I'll have to check it out - and her blog! Have a good weekend ~ ♥
How sweet of her to respond to you. I'm off to check out her blog now. Thanks for sharing.
That's so neat!!
Mary,
I am also fan of the homespunliving blog that you mention. I love to read Deb's gentle way of sharing and her creative ideas. I have enjoyed your blog today as well. I grew up in the southern tier so can picture your life there.
Mary
