Mental health day

Sometimes things just get a little nutty in my life, and I have to take a break and get myself put back together. Work is taking some unusual turns, and I don't do change very well! Because I had some unscheduled vacation, I took yesterday off. My cousin Audrey calls it a mental health day, and I totally agree.

By 8:30 a.m. she emailed me to ask if I was in my pj's drinking coffee and surfing the web. My reply? Pretty much! And because I don't shift gears quickly, I was spending my mental health day cleaning and grocery shopping. After dinner was put into the crockpot, I headed to the sewing room to work on my Farmer's Wife blocks. Laurie Aaron Hird, the author, gave me a link for free template downloads; and you can find it here.

This morning I've found tons of great craft and sewing ideas. My favorite is Stina's free Valentine downloads, so I've printed them off. I don't need another project, but I haven't done anything for Valentine's day. Maybe later today I'll trace these off.

And then there's this idea from Cluck Cluck Sew. I see these scarves are discounted now at gap.com, but I would love to make my own.

And it's never too early to think about something fun for Christmas. If you scroll down the page, you'll see this very cute spool advent calendar at galloping pony.

We aren't getting the snow storm that is all over the news. My snowmobiler and our sons in law are salivating over the snow that is pounding areas just south of us. They will still ride tonight. I'll be spending quality time with my needle :D

Sounds like the perfect day. I even did some sewing last night. I'm going to knock out the housework this morning and work on my sunday lesson. Hopefully I will post this morning...I too, printed out the VAlentine patterns.

Sounds like a great day. Mental health days can to a lot to rejuvenate the soul. I was so intrigued by the Farmer's Wife blocks that I've decided to join the BOM. I'm still going to do the Dear Jane quilt one of these days, but this one looks like it's really a lot of fun. Thanks for providing the link. I'm sure that I'll be using it.

Hello Mary, I'm stopping by to thank you for taking the time to leave a sweet comment on my blog! I'm glad you did as it has led me to yours and I've become a follower as I admire your quilting and the fact that you are a Christian.
Please call again as I appreciate your interest.

I like that term "mental health day". That is so true, sometimes we just need to stop everything around us and spend the day doing what we like to do. I know it makes for a happier me!

I really want to check out all the ideas you've found, but I am so far behind on my crafting because I'm re-organizing two rooms in my home. I didn't realize it would take so long and take so much away from my crafting. =[

I hope you have a wonderful and blessed week~

I think we could ALL use a mental health day every now and then and you spent it in the best way possible! ♥
