Fun stuff

Today Jenny and I are going on a local house tour. Every year I say I'm going, and every year I decide it's not worth the time or the expense. This year, however, we are going to see three of the five houses on the tour. One house is advertised as being 'full of quilts.' Sounds like us!

When we get home, I want to try this project from Kathy Schmitz's blog. I don't have the wool, but I need to stitch the letters first anyway.

But then there is this darling pillow from Renee Plains. It's a good weekend to stitch, and I just don't know which project to start first!

Your tour sounds fascinating. I hope you can take photos of the quilts.

let us know how the tour was! I went on a couple and came home feeling very uncreative and underdecorated!! That has changed over the years...I realize that I decorate for me and mine and I'm open to ideas. Make the banner and Julie can use her new mad skills to make one, too!! I didn't use wool on our church crafts, just felt. Wool would be better and you can get it at joann's next to the big felt by the yard, wool felt, but I don't know how the selection of colors is...

Oh I hope you had fun on the house tour, imagine a house with many quilts displayed...be still my heart! Our town has their house tours on Sunday, but we are going to be hearing our grandson sing at the university, so my choice is hearing the music this year! I like the *joy* banner idea, how do we work more time into our weekends? Have a wonderful week, blessings sent your way from my part of PA!

Oh, what fun tours are in the holidays! Your joy banner looks like a winner, Mary, and your stitched with love projects for Mom's room are so pretty. Congrats on the new baby, too, Grandma!!

Mary, I like them both, are they both cross stitched? I've always wanted to make a banner, maybe this winter!

Dear Mary,

Born Again in Baptism

One key Scripture reference to being "born again" or "regenerated" is John 3:5, where Jesus says, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God."

This verse is so important that those who say baptism is just a symbol must deny that Jesus here refers to baptism. "Born again" Christians claim the "water" is the preached word of God.

But the early Christians uniformly identified this verse with baptism.

Water baptism is the way, they said, that we are born again and receive new life—a fact that is supported elsewhere in Scripture (Romans 6:3–4; Colossians 2:12–13; Titus 3:5).

No Church Father referred to John 3:5 as anything other than water baptism.
