Tomorrow is the first day of buck hunting in the State of Pennsylvania. All weekend trucks and cars have been going down our road, and most (it seems) are full of hunters on their way to the camps.
We'll host our own camp here; we have two hunters coming this afternoon to spend the night. Tomorrow morning I'll be up early making a huge breakfast before they head out to the woods. Then it'll be time for me. The company I work for, like a lot of businesses and schools in this state, gives the employees the first day of buck hunting off as a paid holiday.
Sherry at Prairie Moon Quilts has a Weekly Challenge where she concentrates on a specific project and tries to finish it up that week. She has a really good quilt blog, and I'm especially interested in it because she is also working on The Farmer's Wife Quilt. Like me, she's behind. A kindred spirit! So I'm taking a cue from her, and I'm planning to get five blocks done this week. It doesn't seem like a lot to accomplish, but things just seem to be crazier and crazier around here; and right now, five blocks may as well be 105.
I also have a baby quilt to finish and a tablerunner - both of which I started at the quilt retreat two weekends ago. By this time tomorrow, I hope to be able to say I finished something!

Have a great tomorrow! That's awesome. A day just to catch up. I know when I fall behind, a few blocks can feel like 10!
My DH couldn't get off until Wed. Too many hunters and no closing of business here.
Have fun!

Sounds like a good day to me, hubby hunting and the sewing machine busy...yep you and I will be happy sewers in PA ~~ hopefully showing progress tomorrow evening ☺! I have toooooo many plans in my head, but I want to be able to show something completed by the end of my day on Monday! WE CAN DO THIS Mary, yes WE CAN!! Sending blessings your way from Central PA!
Catch up days are wonderful....
Have fun as you catch up!
Mary-
I've hosted 15 scrap n sew weekends at the HI Express here. Over time I have become, perhaps, less industrious, instead of completing more. But I also understand for women, and maybe more for me, we lack that quilt bee time in our lives and this fills that void and if catching up on the lives of my friends is what happens those weekends, then really, my biggest problem is just hauling WAY TOO MUCH stuff there! I read last night, if you have a dream or goal, write it down and your percentage of reaching it is increased SOOOOO much. My mom sent me a little quip in the beginning of fall of 10 things...just write a list of 10 things to do every day, even easy things like brush your teeth and you will feel good to get the list crossed off. If you put a quilt block on every day, I'm thinking it could happen.
a couple of friends and I got together Saturday night and we sewed some Christmas pillowcases, because we've had then here for years from Thanksgiving to New Years on your pillow, then they go away until the next year. Some they ended up not being Christmas, as much as special to them, but then I made some for my 2 college students to wear and share and I'm hoping they use them. :o)
chat later... it's an at-home day-hurray!
Happy hunting!!!
My hubby, so far with his bow, has shot an 8 Point Buck and 3 Does. Today and tomorrow he will be going out with his gun. I've never seen a grown man get so excited about something! I almost have to laugh at him. I hope your men do good.
Good luck on getting your projects finished up Mary. Sometimes I just wonder where all my time goes.
Have a blessed day.
Hugs, AMY
How fun to have the day to yourself!! I hope you are able to accomplish what you set out to do!
