What I've been working on....

Sunday was to have been stitch day; but a busy schedule for Audrey and a touch of the flu and a head cold for me kept our group from getting together. I stitched for a while anyway and finished this project I started last year. You can find the link here. I'm not sure what I'll do with this as it's only 4" square. Any suggestions?

I'm working on this scrap quilt. It's Apple Crisp from the October 2010 issue of American Patchwork and Quilting. This is an easy pattern and makes for quick sewing.

My quilt group's annual retreat is in five short weeks. I have a lot of sewing to do before I leave, and I'll be showing more projects soon.

I would use some of the fabrics from the Apple Crisp quilt and sew a patterned border around the little 4" square and make it big enough to make a pillow!

Love the apple crisp pattern!

Mary is there nothing that you can't stitch or sew! All I want to do is learn to sew and make pillows. I need you to come visit me and teach me.

Looking forward to seeing more projects from you. I hope you are on your way to a full recovery as well.

Praying for you,
AMY

I am always attracted to designs with letters of the alphabet on them.

Hi Mary, I hope you are feeling better friend! I love the stitchery, I see it framed, even at 4" it would look so quaint! The Apple Crisp is coming along nicely. I love the colors it is so sweet, just the name makes one think Fall! Sending good thoughts your way and blessings included from the center of the state!

Your quilt top is gorgeous! And I love your cross stitching. I just picked up some cross stitching supplies last week in hopes of trying my hand at a new craft (as if I don't have enough to keep me busy, right?). Maybe we can get together for coffee or tea and you can give me lesson. :)

Counted Cross-stitch is my craft of choice. I like best that is doesn't cost so much and you can take it anywhere.

I think the little cross stitch would make a lovely little pin cushion for a quilter like you :)

I love pin cushions and have made quite a few of them for gifts.

Love your little piggy quilt too... how cute!

What type of machine to you use for your quilting? I haven't been successful with that and would love to learn how. I usually tie my quilts because I don't know how to quilt on the machine and hand quilting is not an option.

What a darling cross stitch. I am currently working on some a little bit smaller than yours, for Christmas ornaments. If you are interested, I have a link to a great tutorial on the finishing touches. :o)
I hope you have a wonderful day.
Sincerely - Trish
