Yesterday I watched Natie and Max while Julie and Jenny went to a wonderful craft show a couple towns over. I've been doing a lot of Christmas shopping lately, so I knew it was time to stay home. I put out all my fall decorations, and I am ready to kiss summer goodbye.
My cousin Audrey cleaned out her sewing room a couple years ago and gave me some of her things. In the bag were two of these half-finished pumpkin quilts. Sometimes I drag my feet to finish my own projects, but it was fun to finish these and give one back to her.
Here is a potpourri recipe that will help you think of fall. Pour water into a kettle and add some cinnamon sticks, bay leaves, and dried orange peels. Simmer on the stove for as long as you'd like; just keep an eye on the water level as you don't want this to boil out. We use this quite a bit in the winter, too.

That pumpkin quilt is adorable! How neat that there were two... you get to keep one and bless her with the other!
I used to simmer potpourri on the stove too then I got away from it for some reason... I don't even remember why because it always made the whole house smell good!
Yes, I was blessed that Mary finished one for me!! She is the best cousin ever!
Thinking and aching for fall weather too. I love the smells of Autumn and fall

Oh yes, bring on Fall, the coolness, the smells and the wonderful decorations! I am so ready after the extreme summer weather :>)!! I love the wall hanging, very sweet finish and lucky Audrey! Your simmer pot sounds similar to mine, but I have not added the Bay Leaf, I will try that! Blessings to you from my part of PA!
