Spring cleaning

I don't do spring cleaning. While I like a clean house, I work at it every day whether it's just sweeping the floors or wiping cupboard doors after I do the dishes. I would love to have someone come in and clean for me once a week, but my money is better spent in other ways.

Today I will be taking down the kitchen curtains and washing the inside of those windows. I'm sorting through some clothes and things the girls left behind when they got married. The things I don't keep I'm itemizing and taking to the thrift store for a donation.

My last trip to the thrift store netted me a couple great finds - a Liz Claiborne purse with the orignial price tag still on it plus a Dooney and Bourke purse that I don't think was ever used. There are no purse crumbs in the corners and it is in spotless condition. And seeing some of the great stuff other bloggers have picked up at their thrift shops has my mind reeling. I want to get out my spring decorations later today; hopefully I'll find a few odds and ends on my junk trip that will go with what I already have. Hope you are having a good weekend, too.

Today is a *hodge-podge* day for me...I am jumping from spot to spot and not really making much headway! It seems picking up and putting away is the plan right now, LOL! I am packing away the snowmen from various shelves, and bringing out Spring...it just feels like the right time! Have a wonderful weekend ~ Blessings to you my PA friend!

I'm a little worried about what you will be donating of mine.....

Sounds like you are going to be busy for a little while Mary! I love my trips to the thrift store! You never know what goodies you are going to find. It's the surprise of something really neat that gets me all excited about going.

Have a delightful weekend~

Good for you, Mary! I'm not always up on my cleaning.
I have never been a regular thrift store shopper, either, but since our move 2 years ago, economy/necessity has required it of me. Hey, we have some great, new-to-us pieces that I'm rather proud to own, without big bucks!

Hey, Friend, I shop like you shop. It's so much fun to find a great buy for pennies on the dollar. I've never minded slightly used items. As for cleaning, I wish I had several maids, but alas I don't and end up cleaning things myself or grabbing a kid. Gosh, that's why I had kids! ;) Check out my IYQ Puzzle post.

you have found some good things at the thrift store....way to go! I like to keep a clean house too, but with kids here, I still find that I need a good cleaning every spring. I'm about ready to start!

I'm like you. I just do a few extras each day.
The one I do is really get to work on the front porch. I bring out all my floral stuff-and it is like Christmas! I love decorating the porch after a long winter :)

Did you ever see your comment on my sidebar? The one about the Thirtysomething tune. I just loved that!
Have a great day, Mary!

You sound like you keep up with it pretty good on a daily basis. I do a really good deep cleaning in the spring and summer, but unfortunately weekly sometimes things get missed. Then I get a little out of sorts, I like things to be a certain way.

Have fun!
