From Melanie at Covered Porches

I got interested in blogging a couple years ago. Audrey had an injury that kept her from work a couple months, and I still remember her sending me the email that said check these out. At first I thought it was the craziest thing I'd ever heard of. I mean, who wanted to put their thoughts out there for just anyone to read, and who in the heck would be reading this stuff anyway. But after discovering quilting and decorating blogs, I was hooked.

I start my morning the same way every day with a cup of coffee in one hand and a mouse in the other. After checking out Fox News and local newspaper online, I look at the blogs starting with my favorites; and I have a few that I look at each day faithfully. Imagine how thrilled I was when Melanie from Covered Porches actually emailed me! It was like Hollywood had called on me! And so a friendship was started.

And because I've enjoyed her blog for so long, I sent her a pincushion I had made as a thanks for inspiring me kind of thing. She, in return, sent me a huge package with a sweet book of quilt stories and this huge sign - that she had made. Melanie, I love it; and red is my favorite color! My photography skills leave much to be desired, so I hope you can imagine how wonderful this is. I have a couple places in mind where to hang it; the hard part is deciding which place it will be.

Thank you to everyone else who has read my blog or taken the time to post on it. It really is fun to find kindred spirits out there. I look forward to hearing from you and maybe even one day we'll meet.
