Today I am giving honor to my mom. I found the most special way to do this through the virtual quilt patch on the side of my blog. My mom has Alzheimer's and was given this diagnosis 15 years ago this year. This disease can last as long as 20 years, but the average is 8. To say these 15 years have been difficult is an understatement.
It is heartbreaking to know she has not seen how wonderful our daughters have grown up to be or to meet the terrific men they have married. She has never seen our precious Natalie. When she was well, she lived a godly life and prayed for her family and friends constantly. So many of her prayers have been answered, and for that I am thankful.

Grandma is the greatest. I miss her terribly.
I am sorry to hear this. What a great comfort to know how she lived her life, through prayer. My prayers are with you and your family. My father-in-law passed away last year. He had ALS for almost 16 years. Most, do not live this long with ALS. My boys do not really remember papaw without ALS. He loved his family and we truly miss him. I loved your way to honor your mother.
