We finally got snow here in Northwestern Pennsylvania over the weekend, and my snowmobile guys couldn't have been happier. And when they are out riding for hours, I have the place to myself. So Saturday I started a pot of soup on the stove and got busy with a needle.

Siobhan emailed and said she was working on a stack of freebie cross stitch charts. That really tempted me because in December I want to drape pine garland on my bannister and load it up with stitched ornaments. This is a freebie pattern I found here.

I finally nailed the crochet slipper pattern that I've been working on. For every slipper I made, I'll bet I ripped out and restarted five other ones. I finally was confident with my work and started making pairs. Larry told me at one point he thought I was obsessed with that project, so I started giving away the pairs. I'm still itching to get the hook out and make more, though.

I am way behind on my sewing, so I ended up trying to finish up a few things. I have always been a sucker for cute quilts, and I credit Debbie Mumm for that. While I've outgrown my Debbie phase, I still like to make a cutie every now and then. With some luck, we'll get more snow before this one gets put away; and the spring quilts come out.

Nothing better than snow, a pot of soup on the stove and stitching away! Love the projects you are working on.

How nice to have the place to yourself! Lots can get done in times like that, hehe.

Love the idea of stitched ornaments hanging from garland on the staircase! Was this a Pinterest picture that I missed?! I wrap my pine garland around the railing but I decided that this year, I will drape it instead. Hmm... I need to make some cute, little prim ornaments to hang on it! Thanks so much for the idea!! =]

I loved Debbie Mumm and still do. The snowman quilt is adorable!! I love all the cute little faces!

Have a wonderful week, my friend~

You paint the perfect picture: snow outside, great smells from the kitchen and stitching :-)!
Love the quilt too, it's cute. I have one up too, but I must confess it hung in the room all year.

I have a bunch more freebies that I want to print out but have told myself that I'm not allowed until I make a good dent in the pile of freebies and smalls that I have now. It's my incentive to get going, though it's hard to be so disciplined.

Love your quilt! I went through a Debbie Mumm phase, too. I can still remember stockpiling some of her Noah's Ark fabric right before northern DE/southeastern PA was hit by a blizzard! Enjoy your snow!

Oh, I LOVE that snowman quilt! Debbie Mumm makes me smile...
And the cross stitch is great. I did a few cross stitch things, but nothing lately. I'd have to clear a spot to put it so it wouldn't get lost in my creative place!!
I made Chicken Wing soup today. It seemed like a soup kind of day again.
Thinking of you as it snows...

I love crosstitch---relaxing.. that's what I think of. But I only used aida cloth. Linen threads are tough for me to see. Funny you mention Debbie Mumm phase--- I was a thimbleberries girl. I bet I have the first ten books by lynette jensen. I still love her decorating. There was a time when her colors were just about all there was. Our little quilt shop in town---when we had one--- carried every one of them.... Thanks for the memories...Cute snowman piece. It's snowman weather here--- one below zero.
