The Inspired Room

Do you read The Inspired Room blog? It's a wonderful blog mostly about decorating. Melissa's style is a lot more formal than what I prefer, but she has a lot of good ideas. Look at this beautiful Christmas tree she's decorated using her Mom's silver.

I was just talking at lunch the other day about how I used to hate polishing Mom's silver when I lived at home. When we divided up Mom's things after she moved to assisted living, I took the iced tea spoons and spoons that were engraved with Gramma's and Great Aunt Aurie's and Fannie's names. This weekend I'll be polishing the silver and tying it to the small tree I have in the dining room. I can't wait!

Your big tree looks great, will be eager to see how your silver tree turns out. A perfect theme tree for the dining room. What a wonderful idea. I was not familiar with The Inspired Room blog, thanks so much for sharing, you're right, she has a lot of good ideas.

Please take a picture and post it for us! My former MIL used to have an older 'aunt' that would come over and spend an afternoon polishing anything silver around Thanksgiving so it was ready for the Holidays!!

I have been so busy that I have missed so much on your blog. Such a treat to sit and read. I printed out the pattern for the Merry Christmas pillow and hope to get it stitched up for a friend. Hope you are enjoying your weekend!

Very clever, thank you for sharing! Makes my mind think, I wish I had a chance to put my mother's silver on the tree...but not meant to be! But I will be keeping my eyes open at various spots for antique silver :>)!! Hope you are well, I have been on the run and not taking time to comment to your blog!! Stay well, and how about news on Mandy, do we have baby Aubrey on the scene yet? Blessing coming your way from my part of PA...brrr a cold part of PA!
