It's a busy weekend for sure. The family hit the ground running yesterday morning. The Canadians arrived, and the entire weekend will be spent on the go, cooking tons of picnic food, and celebrating America's independence.

Today we're heading into town for a parade and an outdoor quilt show. The quilts are to be hung along the main street. It's the first year the organizers are doing this, and 50 quilts were donated. The weather is beautiful today, and I'm really excited to see the display. Tonight we're grilling chicken, and our neighbors will be shooting off fireworks. A couple bears have been seen in the field behind our house. I wonder if the noise will scare them away!

Tomorrow is another picnic with more family and our own version of fireworks. And just when I think Monday will be a sew day, word came last night of an unexpected death; so there is a funeral on Monday. It's one of those weekends when I thought I would be able to follow a to-do list, but I think I'm going to wing it instead. Hope you have a great holiday yourself.

Best wishes for a wonderful weekend Mary. A quilt show outside, I'm not sure who's the more brave, the organizers or the folks who donated their quilts for display! I hope the weather forecast is accurate!

Enjoy your time with your family!

So sorry you will have to attend a funeral. Not a good way to end the holiday weekend. Other than that, it sounds like a wonderful weekend! I love my quiet times too, but I sure love weekends that are full of family and friends! Nothing better, in my opinion.

Have a blessed week my friend!

Mary, I've been lazylazylazy catching up with the girlfriends! My work load has slowed somewhat so that I can spend a little more time with the girls! Sounds like you had a marvelous time with family and friends. And those times of sorrow come without regards to our plans. So sorry. Talk to you later.
