Mojo

A couple weekends ago my husband was at a NASCAR race in Delaware. I spent the weekend working on this quilt, Mojo by Miss Rosie's Quilt Company. The fabrics are from Moda's Apple Pie line. I am thinking of machine stippling this quilt myself.

I bought these fat quarters a few years ago and never really knew what to do with them. I loved these prints and colors, but I wasn't sure how they would look with the many pieces in this quilt. I actually thought it was just too busy; but the more I worked on it, the better I liked how it was turning out. I think this is a great summer quilt. Someone in my house likes to have the air conditioner on full tilt, so I am usually under a quilt.

This project took me about two weeks to piece. That is some kind of a record for me. My quilt group spent last Saturday together, and we swapped our 2 1/2" strips. I have four blocks done for my scrap basket quilt. Hmmmm, looks like I'm in a basket phase - more likely I'm a basket case :D

NancyZ brought a bar cookie to the sew day, and it was a hit. Here is the link for the recipe. Excellent! Thanks, Nancy!

The fabrics in your basket quilt are so neat, I can't believe you accomplished this in two weeks! You must be sewing constantly. Oh, I bookmarked the bar recipe, it looks too yummy! Hope your holiday weekend is a good one, Mary.

Love this quilt !! It looks very "summery" to me. It will look fantastic quilted then washed to give it an old-timey look.

Great piece...does speak of summer to me. In the U.P. quilts are a year round need...cool evenings or air conditioners. And there are always picnics:) Enjoy the quilt-- Great job!

I think it's a wonderful quilt! I buy those bundles too and then sit and look at them and think of how pretty they are tied up and never pull them apart and sew them. You've given me some inspiration to do that. I love your quilt!

Oh Mary! That quilt is beautiful!! I had to pull it up and look at it close. It is gorgeous! I don't think it's busy at all. All the bright, pretty colors really come together so well. I know what you mean about the air being on full tilt... I'm the one under a quilt also. But this quilt I would definitely hang up and not let anyone touch it! Wonderful job my friend!
