Cross stitching

A couple weeks ago Audrey and Melissa came to cross stitch. I decorated our chairs with a hang tag of old fashioned scissors.

At each of our places at the table I had a small dish from my ironstone collection to hold snips of threads.

Here are some projects I've been working on.

This will be a pillow once I get to Erie to purchase a pillow form. I tea dyed and baked this fabric, and the stains look really nice in person.

Lately I've had strawberries on my mind. In another post, I'll show you more strawberries.

A pincushion.

Now that I got some smalls finished up, it's time to get back to pinning stitcheries to foam boards for framing and working on a couple samplers I have going on. There's always lots to do at this place.

Tea dyed and baked...that's an interesting way to go about getting exactly what you need for colours etc. Does the fabric not shrink?

Very sweet work! I've never heard of tea-dying before but it gives it a unique look! I adore that little pincushion. Too cute!

Forgive me, Mary, that's it's been a few days since I've been over. I've been working on my new place, trying to get it in order and have spent way more time on it than I should have.
Just last night, Mom, my Mary and I watched The Blind Side. Mom had not seen it, but Mary and I enjoyed it again just like the first time we saw it. I cried at all the appropriate places - again.
The version I used for the scripture was The Message-Remix (Peterson). It's my life coaching Bible and a good one for young believers and general reading. When I post, I usually use whatever version I'm liking best, since I have several versions.
I used to cross-stitch/embroider LOTS of years ago but got into quilting recently. Things you can do with a needle and thread...
Have a blessed day.

You always care about the little details. I love the strawberries! And the tiny pincushion. I'll take a few. :) I may not put my pins in them, but I'll stick them on a shelf and admire them.

Love some cross stitch, but have not done any in a million years! I'd say that I would pick it back up some time soon now that I can't see worth a flip...bi-focals, can't see up close with them or without them! I'm doomed! :(

Love the litte strawberry!

Very nice. I've not cross-stitched for years. I gave it up when I got carpal tunnel syndrome. I had surgery, but haven't tried it again, yet.
