Coming down to the wire.............

Only four days to go until the sewing weekend, and I'm making lists of stuff that needs to be done so that I don't forget anything. There is still some prep sewing that I need to finish up, and I have fabric that needs to be cut.

I have a list of menus and picked out the dishes to go with each meal. Oh yeah! I'm that serious about putting on the dog for Audrey and Cathy. I have dinnerware I've never used, so I'm excited to finally get it out of the china closet. Taking a tip from Heidi at Foxgloves, Fabric, and Folly, I bought scrapbooking paper to use as placemats with some of my plates. Audrey is bringing Chinese chicken salad for lunch on Friday, and this is what it will be served on:

Friday evening I'm grilling a pork tenderloin to go with fresh corn on the cob, and this is what we will be eating off:

Although I am trying to be calorie conscious in planning the food for the weekend, we are splurging on Friday night and having blackberry cobbler. There is just something about the taste of blackberries that makes me think of our gramma, so I thought it would be fun to serve this while they are with me.

Saturday and Sunday mornings I will just set out fruit, bagels, and muffins so we can eat when we feel like it. Saturday evening we're eating out.

I've washed sheets and dried them on the clothesline so that they smell like the sunshine. There are new bars of soap in antique ironstone dishes to go along with new towels. Does it sound like I'm nutty doing all these things? Maybe so! My daughters are forever trying new recipes and new decorating ideas for their homes. It's rubbing off on me, and I'm finding it's becoming more and more fun to make every day special in some way.
