I'm still looking for a job and have had interviews for some good positions.  Although there is a lot of sewing I could be doing, knitting and cross stitching are suddenly my new time killers.

My cousin Debbie was an RN in New York City and was learning to knit.  Fast forward a few years, and now she's married with two busy little boys.  She sent me the yarn telling me that she doesn't have time for it now.  I found this pattern for a shawl on Ravelry (picture from Ravelry), and I'm making mine from some beautiful pink yarn from Debbie's stash.  The pattern is Mara, and you can find it here.

I love being home, but I would prefer to be working.  But knitting is a whole lot more fun than looking for work!

The shawl is very pretty! I hope you can find a job soon...I gave up my search after looking for a couple years...Don retired and we find we spend so much less money since we are both home...why try anymore! Unemployment here is still very high...and my age is against me...actually though...I love being home...so I think maybe it was a blessing in disguise that my company closed. Have a great day!!

If only someone would pay me to stay home... oh, wait. That is not what I meant. I meant to work from home. and still have some crafting and cleaning time and maybe even switch the laundry around and sweep the living room occasionally! Gotta sew, gotta knit, gotta grow...
I was out of work 5 or 6 months and I was going to do great things, but I had graduation gifts to make and party to plan and summer with friends and then it was working time again. It is what it is

Hoe fun to be able to knit! I wish that I could knit or crochet.

Good luck with the job search!

You crack me up... I'm the same way. When I'm working, I want to be home creating. When I'm home, I want to be out working. I think it's great that you took a break from quilting to play with something else for awhile. The shawl will be so pretty when you are done. I hope one of these interviews turns into a job for you. In the meantime, have fun knitting~
